"A good friend is a connection to life ~ a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world."
Our mission is to continue to bring Corpsman of Echo 2/7 and all Veteran's together, no matter how long it has been, no matter what conflict you may have served in.
We are a united brotherhood...and need to remain as such. We understand each other...because we understand what we have been through. Our loved ones may do their best to understand...and they may love us for who and what we are...they are proud of us for what we have accomplished...then and now. But only the "brotherhood" of veteran's can truly understand the hell we went through then...and what we still go through now. So we must stay united...to help and support each other...be there when someone reaches out for a helping hand. We must lean on each other as we did in the foxholes and trenches in order to get through the rest of our lives and make it better for ourselves...and those that have steadfastly stood by us through good times and bad. That's why they are called "loved ones"...they love US for being US...and our past experiences are what created US.
For those who are unaware of what a Navy Corpsman truly is...we hope to educate the civilians and let them see through the eyes of our Corpsmen. Corpsmen are not "just" medical personnel. They are men who have earned the title "DOC"!!! Men who have gone far beyond the call of duty!!!
What is a "Corpsman"? Ask any Marine who has been through combat...because when the call goes out "Corpsman Up"... that Marine knows his "brother", the Corpsman, will put himself in harm's way to save that Marine...without thinking twice about it. The Corpsman's first thought is always that of his fellow Marine. He does without thinking...because they are HIS Marines...HIS friends...HIS BROTHERS!!!
Ask a Corpsman...and he will simply say... "I'm just doing what I was trained to do...it's my job!"
